John’s Key Unlocks Revelation

It is often said that the Bible is its own best interpreter. And that is nowhere more true than in the book of Revelation. Under the inspiration of God’s Holy Spirit the Apostle John confirms the fulfillment of numerous Old Testament prophecies which would soon culminate in the destruction of Jerusalem at the hands of Rome in the year 70 AD.

This study closely examines one of the ways John does this within his theme verse, Revelation 1:7, which expresses the essence of the urgent message to follow. In doing so, he follows the lead of Jesus Himself who did likewise in His Olivet Discourse, Matthew 24:30.      

The wild-eyed fanaticism with which much of today’s American Church views the Book of Revelation could be easily dispelled if we would indeed let the Bible be its own best interpreter.
